About the Role
Design Engineering Solutions is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to support our accounting and administrative activities.
This position will begin at approximately one day per week, with the potential to grow to two days per week as the business expands. We are looking for someone who enjoys working independently, appreciates flexibility, and takes pride in maintaining accurate and organized financial records.
Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Enter and maintain financial data accurately
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements
- Assist with invoicing and customer payments
- Process vendor invoices and maintain vendor records
- Maintain organized accounting and financial documentation
- Assist with expense tracking and account reconciliations
- Support month-end and year-end accounting activities
- Coordinate with leadership and external accounting professionals as needed
- Perform general bookkeeping and administrative duties
QualificationsRequired
- Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a small business environment
Preferred
- Experience with QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, or similar accounting software
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations
- Prior bookkeeping experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or small business environment
Schedule
- Approximately one day per week to start
- Potential to expand to two days per week over time
- Flexible scheduling based on mutual availability
- Daytime hours, Monday–Friday preferred
Compensation
$20.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience
