Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting patients with their eyewear needs, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring that all optical products meet the highest standards of quality. This role requires a blend of technical skills and retail expertise to effectively guide patients in selecting the right eyewear solutions.
Duties
- Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that best suit their needs and preferences.
- Conduct fittings and adjustments of eyewear to ensure proper fit and comfort.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including prescriptions and order details.
- Educate patients on proper eyewear care and usage.
- Collaborate with optometrists to ensure seamless patient care.
- Manage inventory levels of frames, lenses, and other optical supplies.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Stay updated on the latest trends in eyewear fashion and technology.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to optics and eye care.
- Familiarity with retail sales techniques, including retail math for inventory management.
- Ability to understand vital signs in a clinical setting is a plus.
- Basic understanding of anatomy as it relates to eye health.
- Experience in medical billing and coding is advantageous but not required.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including senior care considerations.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address patient inquiries and concerns.
- A commitment to providing exceptional customer service in a retail environment.
