Duties and Responsibilities
Project Development & Implementation
- Lead assigned energy efficiency opportunities from assessment through installation, verification, and project closeout.
- Develop practical implementation plans, schedules, and next steps with customers and contractors.
- Identify stalled projects and resolve technical, financial, scheduling, or operational barriers.
- Help customers evaluate project costs, savings, incentives, payback, and operational benefits.
- Identify additional energy efficiency opportunities within existing customer facilities.
- Manage multiple active projects while maintaining clear priorities, records, and follow-through.
Technical Support & Quality Review
- Review energy assessments, savings calculations, recommendations, and proposed implementation strategies.
- Identify practical savings opportunities, with emphasis on commercial HVAC, controls, domestic hot water, building automation, compressed air, and related systems.
- Confirm that recommendations are accurate, reasonable, and ready for customer action.
- Review technical documentation, incentive applications, invoices, and supporting records for completeness.
- Support development of custom or program-specific savings approaches for measures not routinely pursued.
- Provide technical guidance and field coaching to auditors, analysts, and other program staff.
Customer & Contractor Support
- Serve as a trusted technical resource for customers and contractors throughout implementation.
- Build strong working relationships with facility owners, contractors, vendors, utility staff, and internal teams.
- Engage contractors early to clarify scope, equipment, schedules, pricing considerations, and program requirements.
- Resolve uncertainty involving project scope, energy savings, eligibility, documentation, or installation.
- Re-engage customers and contractors when projects lose momentum.
- Present recommendations, savings, incentives, and implementation options in clear business terms.
- Maintain regular communication and ensure each project has clear actions, owners, and timelines.
Program Coordination & Continuous Improvement
- Coordinate with utility program managers, engineers, rebate staff, and customer engagement teams.
- Track project status, implementation progress, incentive activity, and forecasted savings.
- Communicate risks, barriers, and needed decisions to Program Managers.
- Identify recurring implementation challenges and recommend practical process improvements.
- Share lessons learned and effective implementation practices across programs.
