Position Summary:
This position will be responsible for the accurate and timely completion of various Shipping Financial processes at a high level of responsibility and confidentially, with minimal direction. Responsible for all small packages routed from our Lands' End, WI distribution facilities in the most cost-efficient manner within the required service level. To ensure consistent transportation standards, this position utilizes available systems to track and report on the progress of each shipment. This position will also lead projects and interact with various departments or individuals within and outside of the company.
Position Analysis:
- Analyze shipping invoices by reviewing daily reports, running queries and researching current shipping rates. Communicate with agents and team members to resolve rate and invoice issues. (quantum View, QlikView UPS.com and access databases.)
- Maintain and audit cost components of shipping rates by reviewing fuel, freight and accessorial fees and reconcile with current contracted rates. Reviews and reconcile invoices with shipping vendors.
- Communicate with shipping vendors, agents and team members to resolve any issues.
- Maintain departmental records, spreadsheets and/or databases for historical and future performances reporting purposes. Adapt existing record keeping methods and assist in the development of new processes to meet the needs of the department.
- Oversee daily shipping audits to ensure standards are being met on all shipments.
- Provide forecasting models and processes for all shipping.
- Prepare and manage shipping reports and send out weekly to the shipping team. KPI’s
- Participates in analyzing, reviewing and recommending shipping partners. form other department duties and provide project support as needed.
- Provide daily, weekly and monthly data analysis, trends, results and opportunities.
- Proactively identify, investigate and provide solutions within the shipping area.
- Provide shipping quotes to team members.
Required skills:
- Associates degree in field of accounting or finance or equivalent experience.
- Ability to perform at a high level of accuracy with confidential information.
- Ability to perform with a high degree of initiative and creativity, strong organizational and problem-solving skills, team player, self-motivated, and ability to work independently.
- Proven follow-through with regards to communication, both professionally and diplomatically and listening skills.
- Ability to make decisions which may have financial impact on the company.

- Proactive, positive attitude, and flexible to adjust to changing priorities and schedules hours, to adapt to the business needs.
- Proficient use of utilize Lands' end systems and PC applications (Outlook, Shared Folders, Systemware, Business Objects, Access databases, QlikView, Quantum view, third party applications, GEAC (Accounts Payable & General Ledger), Excel, and Word) efficiently in tasks completion.
- Demonstrate project management skills to include planning, developing, facilitating, implementing, and reporting results.
- Ability to adhere to Lands’ End Attendance program. For hourly full-time positions: Must be able to work a 40-hour work week and be available for overtime as business needs arise (e.g. peak season). For hourly flexible part-time positions: Must be able to adhere to hours scheduled based on specific business needs (e.g. increased availability for hours during peak season).
- Ability to work with applications to configure and update shipping systems and servers. Complete analysis and testing of application prior to implementation in production environment.
