Growing family-owned company is searching for experienced mechanics that will, perform preventive maintenance services, inspect, diagnose and repair, heavy duty, waste and recycling vehicles. Full time job with plenty of hours available year-round. Multiple shifts available. Starting pay is based on experience and ability with fast increases possible.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to work safely and:
- Work under limited supervision.
- Perform repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.
- Perform inspections, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
- Conduct safety checks on vehicles.
- Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
- Assist other mechanics in the completion of project work.
- Review and complete repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with company / OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Other minor duties may be assigned.
Qualifications

- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Diesel mechanic experience required.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Work Environment

- Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) most of the work day
- Required to exert physical effort in handling objects most of the work day
- Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks daily (such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, etc.)
- Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements daily
- Normal setting for this job is: repair/maintenance shop.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $37.00 per hour
