Manufacturing Engineer opportunity in Boston, MA. This is a 100% onsite, 5-days/week position.Key ResponsibilitiesNPI & Process Development
- Lead process flow planning, line layout planning, and workstation design from early concept through high-volume production ramp-up.
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to support production launches.
Standardization & Documentation
- Create and optimize SOPs, detailed work instructions, process flow diagrams, routings, and launch readiness checklists.
DFM & Tolerancing
- Collaborate with Product Engineering on Design for Manufacturability/Assembly (DFM/DFA).
- Guide GD&T and tolerance stack-up practices.
Quality & Risk Control
- Lead PFMEAs, Control Plans, APQP/PPAP inputs, and process validation trials.
- Conduct structured root-cause analysis using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and related methodologies.
Automation & Controls
- Partner with Equipment and Controls teams to deploy and validate tooling, fixtures, error-proofing (Poka-Yoke), sensors, and safety systems.
Logistics & Material Flow
- Integrate Plan for Every Part (PFEP) strategies, sequencing, packaging, and line-side material delivery configurations.
Continuous Improvement
- Troubleshoot shop-floor bottlenecks and optimize cycle time, yield, first-time quality, and OEE using Lean and Six Sigma tools.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, industrialization, or production launch.
- Direct experience in large-scale discrete manufacturing, such as automotive, battery, energy, aerospace, or heavy equipment.
- Proven experience collaborating cross-functionally with Quality, Facilities, Supply Chain, and EHS teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting greenfield facility development, equipment installation, commissioning, and operational handover.
- Strong knowledge of machining, assembly, fabrication, welding, surface treatments, or testing.
- Familiarity with MES, SCADA, PLM, ERP/SAP, and manufacturing data analysis.
- Experience with OEE, takt time, line balancing, and production optimization.
Pay: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
