Hi, we’re Mother Pizzeria, the same team behind Giusto in Newport! We’re a pizzeria, gelateria, and bar in a prime Newport location and are looking for a host to join our support team. This person has previous experience in a customer service role, loves creating unique, memorable experiences, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Think of it as air traffic control but for restaurants.
We operate with passion and creativity for the industry and respect for each other. Our menu features sourdough pizza made from stoneground flour, homemade gelato, natural wines and Italian-inspired cocktails. We offer excellent hospitality and service to our guests and make it our priority as a restaurant to take care of our team. You are an extension of this and exude hospitality with every interaction. You must have…
- The ability to execute genuine, professional, and friendly hospitality
- The ability to work as part of a team, often jumping in to help run food, execute a take out order, and assist with any other tasks in the moment as part of a tip-pooled environment
- The ability to articulate and communicate effectively with our guests
- Weekend availability
- A polished appearance and good hygiene practices are a must but we also encourage you to come as you are and be yourself. Individuality is respected and encouraged
- A sense of urgency to keep our space clean and presentable
- Respect to work amongst a staff with diversity and a passion for hospitality
- Dependability and a strong work ethic
- Reliable transportation or utilize parking options that are available to you downtown
It would be cool if…
- You have previous experience using the Resy reservation platform
- You have previous experience working in a high-volume dining experience
- You have some knowledge about Newport and surrounding areas.
