Qualifications
The successful candidate will hold a high school diploma or equivalent. A Bachelor’s degree or specialized training in communication technology, instructional technology, or a related field is highly desired. AVIXA certifications (CTS or equivalent) are preferred. A valid driver’s license is required, and candidates must maintain a favorable driving record in accordance with the College Fleet Policy. A minimum of two years of experience in AV installation, maintenance, and support is highly preferred, as well as familiarity with Crestron AV systems and videoconferencing platforms. Experience in a higher education environment is preferred.
The successful candidate will have:
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to provide prompt and courteous support to faculty, staff, and other campus clients in both routine and live event troubleshooting situations
- The ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and equipment issues quickly and effectively, making sound decisions under pressure
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate equipment inventory records
- Working knowledge of audio/video signal types, connection types, cable and adapter applications, and a broad range of AV equipment makes and models
- The ability to learn and apply new technical information and assess emerging technologies for potential campus applications
- The ability to work independently, as a team player, and remain flexible and responsive to the changing needs of the campus environment
Physical Requirements:
This person must be able to travel (includes walking) from their office location to any point on campus, including top floors of buildings with no elevator. Must be able to move a wide range of AV equipment from one location to another. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Should be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
