Extreme K-9 is currently hiring for a Kennel Technician. This is a hands-on, entry-level position focused on the daily care, safety, and well-being of the dogs in our facility.

At Extreme K-9, we provide structured care and training environments for boarding dogs and dogs in behavioral training. Our focus is safety, structure, cleanliness, and professional communication. Every dog in our care depends on our team to provide consistent and responsible handling.
Job Summary
Kennel Technicians are responsible for the daily care of all dogs in our facility as well as maintaining cleanliness, sanitation standards, and assisting with client interactions.
This role includes both independent work and team collaboration depending on the shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Feeding, watering, and daily care of dogs
- Providing regular potty breaks and walking dogs (often multiple miles per day)
- Administering basic oral medications as needed
- Cleaning kennels, yards, and maintaining facility cleanliness standards
- Assisting with dog check-in and check-out
- Communicating professionally with clients and staff
- Maintaining a safe, structured environment for all dogs
Dogs in Our Care
Dogs vary widely in size (10–100+ lbs) and temperament. Some are friendly and social, while others may require confident and structured handling. All staff are trained in safe handling procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- No prior experience required (animal confidence and willingness to learn are essential)
- Punctuality and dependability is an absolute must. We are working with living beings; they depend on you.
- Must maintain a well-groomed and professional appearance
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation required
- Must be able to walk multiple miles per day and remain on feet for long periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and safely handle large dogs on leash
- Comfortable working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments
- Strong communication skills with both clients and team members
- Detail-oriented with strong cleanliness standards
