Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes accurately using Dentrix.
- Schedule appointments efficiently and confirm upcoming visits via phone or electronic communication.
- Collect and process payments, including insurance claims, and co-pays, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and health information management policies.
- Present treatment plans and collect out pockets fees.
- Verify patient insurance coverage, review documentation for accuracy, and assist with health insurance inquiries related to Medicare, Medicaid, or private plans.
- Maintain organized medical records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with clinical confidentiality policies.
- Handle incoming calls with professional phone etiquette, address patient questions regarding health insurance or clinic procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a front desk administrative support within a dental setting, experience is a must.
- Treatment plan presentation and familiarity with dental codes is required.
- Strong knowledge of office management software such as Dentrix.
- Excellent customer service skills coupled with professional phone etiquette and clear communication abilities.
- Knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare billing procedures and health information management standards like HIPAA compliance.
- Ability to review medical documentation accurately while maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information.
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for managing dental records and appointment schedules efficiently.
