Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Assistant Coordinator (Part-Time) to join our vibrant team dedicated to enriching the lives of our residents. In this role, you will coordinate engaging recreational activities, foster social connections, and support residents’ emotional and physical well-being. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will help create a lively, inclusive environment where seniors feel valued, active, and connected. Duties
- Assist with planning and leading daily group activities
- Encourage participant engagement and social interaction
- Provide one-on-one assistance to participants as needed
- Assist with arts and crafts, games, exercise, music, and special events
- Help prepare activity supplies and clean up afterward
- Serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks
- Assist participants during meals when appropriate
- Maintain activity areas and common spaces
- Assist with participant supervision throughout the day
- Report participant concerns or changes to the Lead Coordinator or Director
- Assist with community outings and special events
- Build positive relationships with participants and their families
- Help create a warm, welcoming, and fun atmosphere
- Perform light housekeeping duties throughout the day
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and confidentiality requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills
- Proven experience in event planning within assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care environments
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care strategies, and senior care best practices
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in recreational therapy roles
- Ability to assist residents with ADLs such as mobility, dressing, grooming, and other personal care tasks
- Excellent schedule management skills to coordinate multiple activities seamlessly
- Compassionate approach to aging issues counseling and social work principles
- Familiarity with home & community care practices and caregiving techniques for older adults
Schedule
Approximately 20 hours per week
Typical hours may include:
- Monday–Friday
- Morning and afternoon shifts
- Occasional Saturdays for Respite Care (optional or as needed)
Schedule may vary based on participant attendance.

Pay: $14.00 per hour
