Saint Bridget School, a Catholic elementary school in Manchester, CT, has an opening for a part-time Art Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. This position requires a dynamic teacher that can interact with and support the learning of students in grades 4-8.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities would include creating an engaging learning environment that fosters academic and spiritual growth, develops fourth through eighth graders’ fine art skills, and a love of learning.
Additionally, the candidate must be able to:
Develop and implement art lesson plans that address spiritual, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.
Use diverse instructional techniques such as modeling, observing, questioning, demonstrating, and reinforcing.
Encourage children to develop self-help skills and independence.
Adapt curriculum to meet individual learning needs and initiate referrals when necessary.
Promote positive behavior through redirection, positive reinforcement, and adherence to the school’s behavioral policies.
Maintain positive communication with families through newsletters, daily updates, and as-needed outreach.
Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.
Assist students who may need additional support.
Minimum 2 years of successful classroom teaching in art.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Demonstrated ability to create engaging, age-appropriate art lessons.
Commitment to fostering a nurturing, inclusive, and faith-based environment.
Practicing Catholic in good standing.
