Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Childcare Worker to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children of various ages. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, and possess a strong understanding of childhood development. This role involves supporting children's physical, emotional, and educational needs while fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere. The Childcare Worker will collaborate with families and team members to ensure each child's well-being and growth.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor children during activities, playtime, meals, and rest periods
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
- Ensure the safety of children by adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Provide basic caregiving duties such as diapering, feeding, and assisting with toilet training
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing personalized care
- Maintain a clean and organized environment conducive to learning and play
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and behavior
- Assist with classroom management and behavior guidance using positive reinforcement techniques
- Administer first aid when necessary and respond promptly to emergencies
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or caregiving roles
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development stages
- Experience caring for infants, toddlers, or children with special needs is highly desirable
- Classroom experience or experience in a daycare setting is preferred
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies and safety protocols
- Certifications such as First Aid are advantageous but not mandatory; training can be provided if needed
