The HVAC Comfort Consultant leads in-home consultations with customers who are exploring system replacements or upgrades. This role focuses on education, trust-building, and guiding homeowners toward solutions that align with their comfort needs and budget.
This position plays a key part in helping homeowners make informed decisions about their comfort needs while supporting our company’s growth and reputation for exceptional service. What will I do?
- To always represent T.F. O’Brien in the most professional manner
- To respond to each lead provided at the appointment time. Report on any changes to the Inside Sales Lead Coordinator and Sales Manager
- Assist in marketing direct mail programs, including follow-up programs
- Achieve Monthly and annual sales metrics
- Develop self-generated leads through individual networking efforts
- To prepare all financing paperwork prior to the job starting and obtain all pre-signatures as needed
- Complete and submit a proposal for all work with the customer for approval and down payment (may vary as to the amount)
- Maintain knowledge of any/all available rebates and incentives a homeowner can take advantage of
- Communicate all details of the installation to the Install Manager, including layout, special circumstances, etc., and be available to provide answers for the installers if any should arise
- Assist in collection or completion of financing paperwork if payment or signatures cannot be obtained at the completion of the job
- Be available for customer follow-up if necessary
- Consult with the sales manager for labor and material estimates
- Meet quarterly with the Sales Manager to discuss cost allocations
- Develop and maintain key customer relationships
- Continuously improves and maintains in-depth product knowledge
- Share expertise, guiding customers to make the best product and service selections that will provide value to their home or business, while enhancing company profitability

- Proven track record in sales
- Financial acumen, including job cost analysis
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Highly organized with exceptional follow-through abilities
- Strong verbal and written communications
- Good presentation and public speaking skills
- Outgoing personality that blends well with a fast-paced, goal-driven environment
- Highly motivated, flexible, and with a great attitude on life
- A valid and clean driver's license
- Willingness to flex schedule to meet customer availability when needed
- Industry experience preferred

Physical Requirements:
The role is primarily indoors and can be physically demanding at times. It requires standing for long periods, occasionally lifting heavy objects, and interacting with customers who may be difficult. You must also be comfortable climbing ladders and working in tight or confined spaces.

This is a commission-based position. Total annual compensation for this role is expected to range from $100,000 to $200,000, based on performance, customer demand, and sales volume. Compensation includes commission earnings; leads are provided.
