About the Opportunity - Bookkeeper
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper for a short-term temporary assignment with a well-established organization in Nashville. This onsite position will play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations, month-end activities, while also helping guide team members through accounting processes and best practices. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach. This position is expected to last approximately 4-6 weeks and offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact in a professional and mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities - Bookkeeper

Process and manage accounts payable transactions with a high degree of accuracy.

Perform account reconciliations and credit card reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Assist with month-end close activities, including preparing, reviewing, and validating financial data.

Maintain accurate financial records and identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.

Document accounting procedures and support process improvements.

Train, mentor, and assist newer accounting team members on established workflows and accounting best practices.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accounting deadlines and reporting requirements are met.

Utilize accounting software and Microsoft Office applications to support daily accounting functions.
Qualifications - Bookkeeper

Previous experience in full-cycle accounting and month-end close processing required.

Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.

Experience with accounts payable, account reconciliations, and financial record maintenance.

Prior experience training, mentoring, or supporting less experienced accounting staff preferred.

Experience with MIP Fund Accounting software strongly preferred.

Candidates without MIP experience must have strong QuickBooks experience.

Demonstrated ability to learn new systems, processes, and procedures quickly.

Excellent attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard accounting software applications.

Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Must successfully complete a background check.
