Duties
- Prepare a variety of baked goods, including cakes, pastries, bread, and other confections with attention to detail in decoration and presentation
- Assist in food preparation for daily service, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards and are served promptly
- Package baked items and prepared foods efficiently for retail or catering purposes while maintaining freshness and presentation
- Follow recipes accurately and adapt techniques to achieve desired textures and flavors
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to strict food safety protocols
- Handle food ingredients responsibly, practicing proper food handling techniques to prevent contamination
- Support catering events by preparing specialty items and assisting with setup and presentation
Experience
- Proven experience in baking or cooking within a bakery, restaurant, or food production environment
- Strong pastry experience including cake decorating skills that enhance visual appeal
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Skilled in using kitchen tools such as knives with precision and safety awareness
- Experience in food packaging, presentation, and portion control for retail or catering services
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment used in baking and cooking processes
- Excellent customer service skills are a plus, especially when interacting with clients or guests during tastings or events
