Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Full-time Day Shift Cook to join our culinary team at Birchwood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Cranford, New Jersey. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents and guests. This is a demanding yet rewarding role that requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, using standardized recipes and procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
- Work effectively as part of a team to ensure efficient meal delivery and presentation
- Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills, responding to requests and concerns from residents and staff
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including inventory management and food production logs
- Participate in menu planning and catering events as needed
- Develop and maintain a positive and respectful work environment
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent experience (n/a)
Minimum 1 year of experience as a cook or in a related culinary role (n/a)
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to lift and move heavy objects and equipment (up to 50 pounds)
