Position Overview:
As an Early Learning Center Teacher at the Greater Carbondale YMCA, you will play a
vital role in shaping the future of the children in our care. You will create and implement
an engaging, age-appropriate curriculum while fostering a safe, nurturing, and inclusive
learning environment. Your responsibilities will include supervising children, supporting
their cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development, and assisting with daily
routines such as feeding, changing, and personal hygiene.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a play-based, age-appropriate curriculum that
encourages exploration, creativity, and learning.
Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care.
Support children’s overall development through engaging activities and positive
interactions.
Maintain open and effective communication with parents, providing updates on
their child’s progress and developmental milestones.
Adhere to all health, safety, and licensing regulations.
Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning
environment.
Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.
Qualifications:
CDA, Associate, or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related
field.
Minimum of 2 years of professional experience working with children in a
childcare or educational setting.
Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment for children.
Requirements: The ability to obtain and maintain all of the necessary certification and
clearances related to this child care position.
