American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring 2 years of neuro ICU experience and ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certifications at a Level I Trauma teaching hospital.

13-week travel contract on a Neuro ICU unit
-
Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30), with option to sign for 36 or 48 hours per week

Patient ratio of 1:2
-
Patient population includes ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, neuromuscular disorders, seizure disorders, CNS infections, subdural/epidural hematomas, ICP monitoring patients, and neurotrauma cases

Utilizes EVD and bolt equipment for ICP monitoring
-
Manages vasoactive medications, central/arterial lines, CRRT, hypothermia/hyperthermia protocols, and spinal precautions
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call requirements

Floating required within service line to meet facility needs

Uses Epic charting system

Block scheduling not accommodated

Active MO or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted at submission)

Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including 2 years in a neuro ICU or neuro setting required

Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS

Preferred certifications: TNCC, BSN, and 10 hours of stroke education
-
Level I Trauma Center experience required

Teaching hospital experience preferred
-
Epic charting experience preferred

Must pass Relias EKG exam covering interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
-
Skills required include ventilator management, ABG interpretation, continuous IV sedation, cardiac drip titration, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
-
Facial hair must allow for proper respirator fit testing or must be shaved
-
Facility is a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital with over 1,266 staffed beds
-
Will complete 10 hours of stroke education during orientation (NIHSS and ACLS renewals may count toward hours if completed within the year)

Navy blue scrubs required

Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius; no local candidates accepted
-
Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
-
Additional RTO requests cannot be made after submission, offer, or assignment start
-
Standard travelers may work up to 18 months at the facility, followed by a required 3-month break in service
-
Former permanent employees of BJC or Saint Luke's facilities must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
