Role Overview
The Student Counciler (Volunteer) is a vital part of the GiveWise Educational Foundation, tasked with enhancing student engagement and retention. This role involves reaching out to students and parents to understand and address any barriers to class attendance, such as learning challenges or attendance gaps. The focus is on fostering a supportive, non-commercial communication environment that encourages students to stay connected, motivated, and supported.
Key ResponsibilitiesStudent & Parent Communication
- Reach Out: Initiate contact with students who have been absent or irregular in attendance.
- Respectful Dialogue: Engage with parents or guardians to discuss and understand their concerns.
- Program Explanation: Clearly articulate the purpose of the program and the benefits of attending classes.
- Doubt Resolution: Address any basic queries regarding schedules, platforms, or access.
Issue Identiflcation & Support
- Identify Barriers: Determine reasons for non-attendance, such as timing, connectivity, or personal issues.
- Collaborate for Solutions: Communicate any concerns to the Academic or Operations Team for resolution.
- Guide and Encourage: Direct students and parents to available support options, ensuring they feel encouraged rather than pressured.
Attendance Follow-Up & Reporting
- Record Keeping: Maintain concise call records and attendance feedback.
- Weekly Summaries: Provide weekly summaries to the Operations Team.
- Highlight Issues: Identify and report recurring issues impacting participation.
- Support Strategy Improvement: Assist in enhancing attendance strategies.
Ethical Communication & Student Safety
- Adhere to Guidelines: Follow strict child-safety and data-privacy protocols.
- Maintain Respectful Communication: Ensure interactions are non-intrusive and respectful.
- Avoid Pressure: Refrain from any form of pressure, promotion, or financial discussions.
- Escalate Sensitive Matters: Escalate sensitive issues to senior team members as needed.
Coordination with Internal Teams
- Team Coordination: Work closely with Classroom Coordinators and Teachers.
- Share Insights: Provide the Academic Head with attendance-related insights.
- Enhance Communication Flow: Facilitate smooth communication between students and the internal team.

The Student Support & Calling Coordinator (Volunteer) is crucial in ensuring student retention by understanding genuine challenges and building trust with families. This role is designed to prevent silent dropouts and ensure timely support for students in need.
