Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues with engines, transmissions, electrical systems, suspension, and other vehicle components
- Conduct repairs on powertrain systems, including engines and transmissions, ensuring optimal performance and longevity
- Repair vehicle suspension systems and perform wheel alignments to maintain proper handling and safety standards
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams accurately to troubleshoot electrical problems and install or repair wiring harnesses
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to execute maintenance tasks efficiently and safely
- Maintain detailed service records, including inspection reports, repair logs, and diagnostic findings for each vehicle serviced
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process
Skills
- Proven experience with a strong understanding of automotive repair procedures
- Proficiency in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and automotive electrical systems
- Experience working with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technology for vehicle safety enhancements
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics tools and software for accurate troubleshooting
- Mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and suspension
- Ability to interpret automotive wiring diagrams accurately for electrical repairs
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with technical proficiency in vehicle maintenance tasks
- Customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repairs needed and completed
- Knowledge of diesel engine repair techniques is advantageous but not mandatory
