Responsibilities
- Teach Reading & Writing classes for students in Grades K–12 (placement based on experience)
- Develop students' reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and writing skills
- Foster critical thinking through discussion, analysis, and project-based learning
- Encourage students to communicate confidently through presentations and classroom discussions
- Differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs
- Prepare engaging lesson plans and classroom materials
- Provide constructive feedback and communicate student progress with parents
- Collaborate with the academic team to continuously improve curriculum
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in English, Education, Literature, or a related field
- Teaching certification is preferred but not required
- Previous experience teaching Reading & Writing
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Passionate about inspiring young learners
- Creative, organized, and dependable
- Experience with gifted students, private schools, or enrichment programs is a plus

SAT Test Prep TeacherPosition: SAT Math / Verbal Test Prep Instructor
Location: Beyond Young Academy – Millburn, NJ
About Beyond Young Academy
Beyond Young Academy prepares students for academic excellence through rigorous instruction and personalized learning. Our SAT program focuses not only on improving scores but also on strengthening analytical thinking, problem-solving, and test-taking strategies.
Responsibilities
- Teach SAT Math, SAT Reading, and/or SAT Writing classes (based on expertise)
- Develop students' content knowledge and standardized testing strategies
- Analyze practice test results and create individualized improvement plans
- Guide students in time management and effective test-taking techniques
- Assign and review homework and practice exams
- Monitor student progress and communicate with parents when appropriate
- Help students build confidence and achieve their target scores
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher (Master's preferred)
- Strong SAT performance or proven SAT teaching experience
- Deep understanding of College Board SAT content and scoring
- Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner
- Experience preparing students for competitive college admissions
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- AP, IB, honors, or gifted education experience is highly preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous success helping students achieve significant score improvements
- Experience teaching high school mathematics, English, or AP courses
- Familiarity with digital SAT format and adaptive testing strategies
