Summary
Commercial Cleaning Services, Inc. is seeking a full-time Handyman in the Middletown and Wilmington, Delaware area. This position will be responsible for day-to-day maintenance duties at assigned properties and responding to emergency maintenance calls after hours as directed by management. This person works in conjunction with maintenance and property managers to promptly respond to tenant service requests, emergency repair needs, and overall preventive maintenance of the properties. This position is a traveling position which requires much self-direction and initiative.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
General Maintenance including:
- Basic electrical
- Painting
- Plumbing
- Carpentry
- HVAC – preventative maintenance
- Doors – replace latches, preventative maintenance
- Roof – general cleaning and basic structural assessment
- Performs general cleaning of inside and outside of property
- Grounds upkeep
- Other duties as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- The individual must have a minimum of 3 years of direct experience in general building maintenance, equipment maintenance, or construction methods.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and DMV record free of major infractions.
- Demonstrates strong work ethic. Uses time productively to accomplish challenging work goals.
- Presents a professional, positive image that reflects well on the organization.
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the mechanical and building trades (OSHA). Ability to understand, follow and follow up on oral and written instructions.
- Knowledge of standard tools and practices of the various trades of general maintenance such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry and plastering.
- Must be flexible; position requires the ability to work with multiple facilities/store managers.
