About the Position
As a Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for creating and closing sales of high-end sewing machines, sewing furniture, software, and related accessories while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role combines relationship-building, product demonstrations, customer education, and consultative selling.
Success in this position requires strong communication skills, the ability to learn quickly, and a genuine passion for helping customers find the right products for their sewing and quilting needs.
What You'll Do
Sales & Customer Service
- Provide outstanding, above-and-beyond customer service.
- Greet customers promptly and professionally as they enter the store.
- Learn effective methods for identifying customer needs through conversation and discovery questions.
- Recommend products and solutions tailored to each customer's goals, interests, and skill level.
- Conduct engaging, informative, and exciting sewing machine demonstrations.
- Confidently ask for the sale and effectively overcome customer objections.
- Follow up with prospective customers using phone, email, and text communications.
- Manage and maintain sales opportunities through our lead management system.
Additional Responsibilities
- Check sewing machines in for repair using our point-of-sale intake process.
- Stock, organize, and merchandise the sales floor.
- Answer phones and assist customers throughout the store.
- Cut fabric and process transactions through our POS system.
- Assist with daily and weekly store organization and cleanliness.
- Lead or assist with sewing machine education classes.
- Participate in creating marketing and social media content, including instructional and promotional videos.
Qualifications
Required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Minimum 5 years of successful high-end sales experience.
- Proven ability to generate and close sales consistently.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to learn technical products and stay current with industry trends.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Schedule
Full-Time | Tuesday–Saturday
Compensation
Training Period
- $20.00 per hour during the first 90 days of training
After Training
- $18.00 per hour base pay
- Commissions
- Performance bonuses
Most Sales Consultants earn $25–$35 per hour when combining base pay, commissions, and bonuses.
Top performers regularly earn $40+ per hour, with annual earnings potential of $80,000+.
