Join our dynamic security team as an Armed Security Officer, where your vigilance and expertise will safeguard our premises, assets, and personnel. You will be responsible for monitoring surveillance systems, conducting patrols, managing access control, and responding swiftly to emergencies. Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the facility using CCTV surveillance, physical security checks, and access control systems to deter unauthorized activity.
- Manage entry and exit points by performing background checks, verifying identification, and controlling access for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors.
- Respond promptly to security incidents or emergencies by following established emergency response procedures, including fire safety protocols and medical emergencies such as first aid or CPR.
- Operate security equipment such as Taser devices, firearms (where authorized), AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), CCTV cameras, and alarm systems to monitor premises effectively.
- Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or suspicious activities with clarity and accuracy for future review.
- De-escalate conflicts using conflict management techniques while maintaining professionalism and ensuring safety for all parties involved.
- Perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting when necessary for patrol equipment or securing items.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in security roles, law enforcement, military service, or related fields with a focus on physical security and surveillance.
- Valid certifications in first aid, CPR, AED operation, firearm handling (if applicable), Taser use (if authorized), and conflict de-escalation techniques.
- Knowledge of CCTV systems, access control systems, incident report writing, loss prevention strategies, and compliance with security regulations.
- Ability to perform background checks and conduct thorough security screenings when required.
- Strong observational skills with keen attention to detail during patrols and surveillance activities.
- Excellent communication skills for effective reporting and customer service interactions with staff and visitors.
- Physical fitness to handle manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or patrolling in various environments.
