MBT USA operates across ecommerce, wholesale, and specialty retail channels. We are seeking a dependable finance and accounting professional to take ownership of our recurring financial activities and help ensure that reporting is accurate, timely, and well organized.
Position Summary
MBT USA is seeking a hands-on Finance & Accounting Specialist to manage the company’s day-to-day accounting and financial administration.
The primary focus of this position is consistent execution of accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, payroll support, month-end reporting, and related finance activities. The person in this role will work closely with company leadership and will be expected to maintain dependable processes, meet reporting deadlines, and resolve discrepancies when they arise.
This is a full-time, in-office position for someone who is comfortable working independently in a small-business environment and taking ownership of the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable
- Prepare and send customer statements.
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due balances.
- Record and apply customer payments accurately.
- Research payment discrepancies, deductions, and account differences.
- Maintain accurate customer account records.
Accounts Payable
- Review and process vendor invoices.
- Prepare payment requests and maintain supporting documentation.
- Confirm proper coding and approval of expenses.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain an organized schedule of upcoming payment obligations.
Reconciliations and Reporting
- Reconcile bank, credit card, payment processor, and general ledger activity.
- Reconcile transactions across QuickBooks, Fishbowl, ecommerce platforms, and payment systems.
- Review sales, refunds, deposits, inventory activity, and cost-of-goods reporting.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between systems.
- Assist with monthly financial reporting and month-end close activities.
- Help ensure required reports are completed accurately and on schedule.
Payroll and Employee Accounting
- Support payroll processing through Paychex Flex.
- Maintain payroll-related records and documentation.
- Assist with employee reimbursements and other routine accounting activities.
Process Documentation and Improvement
- Maintain clear checklists and documentation for recurring finance responsibilities.
- Identify practical ways to reduce errors and unnecessary manual work.
- Help improve the consistency and reliability of accounting workflows.
- Work with management and technical resources when system or reporting changes are needed.
Qualifications
- At least three years of accounting, bookkeeping, or finance operations experience.
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks.
- Experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, and month-end activities.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Experience working with an inventory, ERP, ecommerce, or payment-processing system is helpful.
- Payroll experience preferred; Paychex Flex experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow responsibilities through to completion.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a small company where priorities may occasionally shift.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and comfortable taking ownership of recurring finance responsibilities. This person should be able to investigate discrepancies, maintain accurate records, meet deadlines, and communicate issues before they become larger problems.
You do not need to be a programmer or data engineer. However, you should be comfortable working with information from multiple business systems and collaborating with technical team members when necessary.
Schedule
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Monday through Friday.
- Regular daytime office hours.
- Some flexibility in daily start and end times may be available, but the position requires a consistent Monday–Friday daytime schedule.
Compensation
$35.00–$42.00 per hour, based on accounting experience, systems knowledge, and ability to independently manage the responsibilities of the position.
