Desired Job Qualifications: Three to five years in electrical maintenance and repair in an industrial setting is preferred. Master Electrician License is a plus.
Necessary Licenses or Certifications: Valid Journeyman Electrician’s License
Follow safety guidelines.
The candidate will need to be able to pass the government background check / attain HSPD12 clearance.
Physical Requirements: This position requires the individual to work both inside and outside, sometimes in inclement weather conditions. Ability to lift 50lbs and in some instances more; capable of performing both pushing and pulling motions and other repetitive motions. It also requires lifting, prolonged, sitting, standing, bending, kneeling and the ability to work in cramped/confined spaces. In addition, the use of ladders may be required, which includes the ability to use/carry ladders, lift and climb ladders of up to 30ft. in length.
Job Description: The Electrician performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. Work involves most of the following: installing or repairing a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment; working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment, working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments. In general, the work of the maintenance electrician requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
In addition to the types of work listed above some examples of work that may be included: assisting with custodial work, parts and material storage and inventory, equipment operational status checks, and other general duties.
