Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to standardized recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Execute food preparation tasks such as slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations in compliance with food safety standards and safety regulations.
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting creative ideas for daily specials or seasonal dishes.
- Support food handling procedures to ensure proper storage, labeling, and sanitation practices are followed at all times.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production efficiently during busy service periods.
- Ensure all food served meets safety standards in production, handling, and presentation to deliver a safe dining experience.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food industry setting, including kitchen experience or dietary aide roles.
- Strong knowledge of food safety management, handling procedures, and safety standards in production environments.
- Demonstrated culinary experience with proficiency in cooking techniques and meal preparation.
- Excellent knife skills with the ability to perform slicing techniques accurately and efficiently.
- Experience with dietary department operations or catering is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
