The Spencer East Brookfield Regional School District is looking to hire a dynamic and qualified School Year Secretary to join the Knox Trail Middle School team. The school secretary position is a 35 hour per week; school year position with additional time as requested by the Principal and approved by the Superintendent of Schools. RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to): Organize, maintain, track, and copy student files and recordsData entry and retrieval of student records and information via PowerSchoolMaintain student attendance, tardiness, and dismissals, run reports, and update principalAssist students, parents, and others by telephone or in person with general school related inquiriesMaintain office supplies and formsMaintain confidentiality of student records informationBe a team player who contributes positively to the school culture and climate.Proficient in Microsoft Office, word processing, google, emails, and database programmingAbility to access and use the internetExcellent interpersonal and communication (verbal/written) skillsDemonstrated organizational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to the needs of parents, students, principal, and staffPrepares correspondence, newsletters, notices, and a variety of materials for distribution to students, staff, and parentsPrepares and submits bills for paymentsCoordinates events such as graduation, field trips, and other events.
Assist with MCAS preparation and test administrationInvolved with student dismissals, changes of dismissals, and release of children Responds to walk-in, telephone, and doorbell communication/interaction in a timely, positive, and responsive wayCollect, review, and report data for emergency drills as requiredOther school office duties including working with children, parents, and staffPerform any other related duties that are deemed appropriate by the principal
