Mallard Medical Supply is seeking an experienced and motivated DME Sales Representative to join our growing team. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining referral relationships with physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, hospice organizations, sleep labs, and other healthcare providers to increase referrals for Durable Medical Equipment (DME), with a strong emphasis on respiratory equipment and services.
The ideal candidate has a successful background in DME sales, understands Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance guidelines, and possesses strong knowledge of respiratory products including oxygen therapy, CPAP/BiPAP, nebulizers, and related equipment. Candidates with established referral relationships throughout Arkansas—including pulmonologists, primary care physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, hospice providers, case managers, discharge planners, respiratory therapists, and sleep labs—are strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, hospice organizations, sleep labs, and other referral sources throughout the assigned territory.
- Generate new business while expanding existing referral accounts.
- Promote Mallard Medical Supply's respiratory and DME product offerings.
- Educate referral partners on available products, services, insurance coverage, and documentation requirements.
- Identify customer needs and coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely patient setup and exceptional customer service.
- Collaborate with Customer Service, Billing, Clinical, and Operations teams to ensure outstanding patient care.
- Monitor referral trends and identify opportunities for territory growth.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions within the company's CRM.
- Attend community events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to increase brand awareness.
- Stay current on Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payer guidelines, and industry regulations affecting DME.
- Meet or exceed monthly sales goals and performance metrics.
Qualifications Required
- Minimum of 2 years of outside sales experience in the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) industry.
- Strong understanding of respiratory equipment and services.
- Proven ability to build and maintain referral relationships.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated with exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.
Preferred
- Experience selling respiratory products including
- Established relationships with Arkansas referral sources, including pulmonologists, primary care physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, hospice providers, respiratory therapists, sleep labs, case managers, and discharge planners.
- Experience using Brightree.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer documentation requirements.
