Bloomaker USA, Inc., a leading floriculture producer, is seeking a full‑time Greenhouse Manager to oversee daily greenhouse operations, ensure plant health, and support our growing and live goods planning teams. This role is ideal for a proactive, independent leader with hands‑on greenhouse or warehouse experience and a passion for horticulture.
Position Overview
The Greenhouse Manager plays a central role in maintaining plant quality, managing environmental conditions, and coordinating movement and production activities across the facility. This is a highly active, on‑the‑floor leadership role requiring strong decision‑making, communication, and technical skills.
Core Responsibilities
- Bulb health monitoring — Oversee bulb condition in cold storage.
- Raw bulb quality checks — Ensure incoming and stored bulbs meet quality standards.
- Greenhouse plant health monitoring — Evaluate plant condition throughout the greenhouse.
- Disease identification — Scout for early signs of disease.
- Climate monitoring — Track and adjust environmental controls.
- Sample collection and documentation — Collect samples at planting and packing and maintain accurate records.
- Spoilage tracking — Track spoilage across greenhouse, planting, and packing operations.
- Alarm response — Respond to environmental or equipment alerts as needed.
- Irrigation oversight — Supervise watering systems and schedules.
- Crate washing oversight — Manage crate cleaning during seasonal periods.
- Equipment maintenance coordination — Conduct checks and coordinate repairs.
- Pesticide and PGR applications — Apply plant growth regulators and other treatments.
- Plant movement and inventory tracking — Document plant flow and inventory movement.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of leadership experience — Ability to direct teams, set priorities, and maintain accountability.
- 3-5 years of greenhouse or warehouse experience — Comfortable in a production‑oriented, climate‑controlled environment.
- Independent, proactive work style — Able to anticipate needs and act without constant supervision.
- Strong communication skills — Collaborates closely with growing and planning teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual English/Spanish — Helpful for team communication.
- Floriculture or horticulture experience — Understanding of plant physiology and production cycles.
- Safety experience — Familiarity with OSHA standards and safe equipment operation.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full‑time, on‑site role at Bloomaker’s greenhouse facility.
- Requires flexibility for after‑hours alarm response. Periodic weekend support during peak season.
- Fast‑paced, hands‑on environment with seasonal workload fluctuations.
