Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment efficiently, ensuring all dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools are cleaned to sanitation standards
- Perform manual cleaning of items as needed, following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as organizing supplies and handling ingredients with proper food handling techniques
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and removing used dishes promptly to maintain a clean dining area
- Follow all kitchen health and safety standards, including proper manual handling and heavy lifting techniques
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations, sinks, and surrounding areas through regular sanitation practices
- Assist in basic food safety management by adhering to sanitation protocols and reporting any hazards or maintenance needs
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitizing procedures, and kitchen health standards is highly valued
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and standing for extended periods
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as commercial dishwashers or related tools is a plus
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and adherence to sanitation protocols
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting the culinary team
- Basic knife skills or experience in food preparation are advantageous but not mandatory
