Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Shipping & Fulfillment Bulk Lead to oversee daily packaging, fulfillment, and shipping operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring production and bulk/wholesale order fulfillment goals are consistently met while maintaining high standards for quality, compliance, safety, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of leading a team while supporting a growing and evolving business.
ResponsibilitiesProduction & Packaging Operations
- Print and prepare product labels according to production requirements
- Retrieve and document inventory from designated bulk storage locations
- Complete and maintain all required accountability and tracking paperwork
- Ensure orders are packed accurately and presented in alignment with brand quality standards
- Hold team members accountable to performance standards and provide feedback to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Flag recurring fulfillment or shipping issues that may impact account or customer satisfaction
Fulfillment, Inventory & Shopify Management
- Ensure all restocking and order fulfillment activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with quality standards
- Assist with routine inventory checks and help maintain accurate counts of finished goods and available bulk stock
- Assist in resolving fulfillment or inventory discrepancies and escalate issues to the Operations and/or Bulk Manager as needed
Shopify Shipping & Bulk Fulfillment
- Manage and fulfill bulk/wholesale orders through Shopify
- Verify order accuracy prior to shipment, including product selection, case/pallet quantities, packaging, and compliance requirements
- Ensure order statuses, tracking numbers, and fulfillment records are updated accurately in Shopify in real time
- Monitor and troubleshoot shipping issues, delays, or discrepancies (including freight and LTL carriers), escalating when necessary
- Ensure compliance with all applicable shipping regulations for hemp/CBD products and carrier requirements
- Maintain organized shipping stations, supplies, and workflows to support efficient bulk fulfillment operations
Quality Control & Compliance
- Support cycle count processes and assist in reconciling inventory discrepancies if needed.
- Ensure adherence to safety, hygiene, and cross-contamination prevention standards
Team Leadership & Operations
- Lead and support bulk shipping and fulfillment staff during daily operations
- Ensure production priorities, shipping deadlines, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met
- Report and troubleshoot operational issues to the Bulk Fulfillment Manager
- Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching and performance support
- Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement process improvements
- Identify opportunities to improve organization, efficiency, and reduce waste
- Assist in developing and refining SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for packaging, fulfillment, and shipping
- Monitor supply levels and promptly notify management of low or soon-to-be-needed packaging materials, shipping supplies, and operational inventory
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to address operational needs, updates, and questions
- Prepare product samples and coordinate materials for Certificates of Analysis (COAs) as requested
Sanitation & Facility Standards
- Lead and monitor daily cleaning procedures for shipping and fulfillment areas, equipment, tools, and workstations
- Train and hold staff accountable for cleanliness, hygiene, and contamination prevention standards
General Operations & Adaptability
- Troubleshoot fulfillment and operational issues and seek guidance when needed
- Maintain flexibility and a proactive approach in a fast-growing, evolving environment
- Provide support across departments as needed to meet business demands
Requirements
- Experience in packaging, fulfillment, manufacturing, or a similar environment
- Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred
- Experience with Shopify or similar e-commerce/wholesale fulfillment systems preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and support multiple operational areas
- Proficiency with Excel, communication tools (e.g., Signal), and general computer systems
- Experience using high-volume label printers preferred
- Experience with freight shipping and bulk order fulfillment preferred
Pay: $25.00 per hour
