Job Overview
We are seeking skilled and dedicated Welders and Maintenance Technicians to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of welding, fabrication, and maintenance tasks across the river industry. Your expertise will ensure the integrity, safety, and functionality of metal structures, equipment, and machinery. Duties
- Perform various welding techniques on barges and commercial water vessels.
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, measuring tapes, and shop math to ensure precise measurements for metal fabrication and assembly.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, and other fabrication machinery safely and efficiently.
- Conduct metal fabrication tasks including sheet metal work, rigging, and assembly of structural components.
- Maintain safety protocols at all times by adhering to OSHA regulations, conducting safety inspections, and ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with construction site activities such as crane operation support, rigging, forklift operation, machining tasks, soldering, and interpreting technical schematics for mechanical systems.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective repair solutions promptly.
- Document work performed through detailed reports and logs to maintain accurate records of project progress and safety compliance.
Qualifications
- Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of metal fabrication processes.
- Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including SMAW, MIG and TIG
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures; shop math skills required for precise fabrication work.
- Mechanical knowledge encompassing fabrication shop experience, mechanical blueprint interpretation, pipe threading, rigging operations, and schematic reading.
- Experience operating power tools like press brakes, power drills/impact wrenches; familiarity with machining is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety protocols including OSHA standards; commitment to maintaining a safe work environment at all times.
- Ability to work effectively on dry docks and various environments with minimal supervision.
- Strong teamwork skills combined with excellent problem-solving abilities; adaptable to changing project needs.

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
