American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Direct Observation/Medical unit position in Urbana, IL, requiring at least 1 year of nursing experience, Epic EMR proficiency, and Level 1 Trauma experience.

Work setting is a hospital medical/observation unit (T6)

Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
-
36 hours per week, three 12-hour shifts per week
-
No on-call requirements
-
Six weekend shifts required per six-week schedule
-
Every other holiday required
-
Floating to similar units required
-
Epic EMR used; experience required
-
Active Illinois RN license in good standing required; temporary license accepted

BLS certification (American Heart Association) required

Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience required

Epic EMR experience required

Level 1 Trauma experience required
-
IV site assessment and IV insertion skills required
-
ASN required; BSN preferred
-
Strong critical thinking and independent judgment skills

Proficient in written and spoken English

Assess IV sites every 4 hours and initiate new IVs per facility policy

Must maintain documentation standards as evidenced by passing quarterly chart audits

Must attend 5 out of 6 staff meetings per year
-
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible

RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
-
Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment at this health system for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning to any facility within the health system
