Job Summary:
The Assistant General Counsel provides legal counsel and support on complex and high impact matters within the Legal Department, collaborating with the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel(s), and/or Senior Assistant General Counsel(s) as appropriate. Serves as lead attorney for a defined portfolio of legal matters, projects, markets, CareSource affiliates/subsidiaries, or specialized area within a practice group, exercising independent judgment on complex legal issues.
Essential Functions:

Provide advice and counsel on corporate, transactional, regulatory, and compliance matters, including drafting legal opinions and recommendations

Proactively identify, assess, and communicate legal and regulatory risks; monitor and interpret legislative and regulatory developments relevant to assigned areas.

Lead or provide legal support for contracting matters, including drafting, negotiation, dispute resolution, and vendor/provider agreements.

Support corporate governance, compliance, and business development initiatives, including new market implementations and partnership arrangements

Build and maintain effective relationships with business leaders, regulators, governmental entities, external counsel, and key stakeholders.

Manage and/or support litigation and dispute resolution activities

Provide guidance and legal expertise to business partners and legal team members within area of responsibility.

Education and Experience:

Juris Doctor (J.D) from an accredited college/university required

Seven (7) years of legal, regulatory, or compliance experience required

Previous experience in a law firm or in-house corporate legal department preferred

Healthcare and/or managed care law experience strongly preferred, particularly government programs preferred

Demonstrated experience supporting complex regulatory environments and business operations preferred

Compensation Range:
$135,600.00 - $237,400.00

In addition to base compensation, you may qualify for a bonus tied to company and individual performance.
