Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
- Handle chemical agents safely, following all chemical handling safety procedures to ensure proper sanitation without risk.
- Conduct routine janitorial tasks including dusting, trash removal, window cleaning, and surface disinfecting to uphold high cleanliness standards.
- Maintain facilities by performing light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, fixing minor repairs, and assisting with basic painting projects when needed.
- Operate cleaning equipment efficiently while adhering to safe lifting practices during heavy lifting or manual handling tasks.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all custodial activities to prevent accidents and ensure a safe environment for everyone.
- Support general facilities maintenance activities and assist with industrial or commercial cleaning projects as required.
Experience
- Prior custodial or janitorial experience is highly preferred, demonstrating familiarity with commercial cleaning procedures and equipment.
- Experience handling chemical agents safely and knowledge of chemical handling safety procedures is essential.
- Background in facilities maintenance or industrial cleaning will be advantageous.
- Customer service skills are important to interact professionally with staff and visitors when necessary.
- Previous experience with floor care techniques such as buffing or using floor buffers will be beneficial.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work independently with minimal supervision is required.
- A strong understanding of safety protocol adherence ensures a secure working environment at all times.
