Groundskeeper
Southern Hill Farms is seeking a dependable and motivated Groundskeeper to join our operations team. The Groundskeeper helps to maintain the beauty, cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the farm property. This role plays an important part in creating welcoming guest experience by ensuring all outdoor areas, fields, walkways, landscaping, and guest spaces are ready for daily operations and special events. Southern Hill Farms is a Drug Free /Non-Smoking / Non-Vaping property.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of all outdoor guest areas, pathways, parking areas, and common spaces
· Mow, trim, edge, and maintain grass areas throughout the property
· Operate tractors, mowers, weed eaters, blowers, and other landscaping equipment safety
· Perform routine landscaping tasks trimming, mulching and weed control.
· Maintain flower beds, gardens, trees, and decorative areas
· Pick up trash, remove debris, and ensure the farm remains clean and guests ready
· Maintain fences, gates, signage, and outdoor structures as needed
· Assist with setup and breakdown for farm events, festivals and special activities
· Monitor property conditions and report safety hazards, maintenance needs, or damaged equipment
· Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment
· Support other departments as needed during peak seasons
Qualifications:
· Previous groundskeeping landscaping, farm or maintenance experience preferred
· Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions
· Ability to operate small engines and farm equipment safely
· Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a beautiful environment
· Must be dependable, hardworking, and able to work independently
· Valid driver’s license preferred
· Must pass background check
· Must be able to speak, read, and understand English
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
· Ability to work outdoors, including heat, humidity, and seasonal weather conditions
