An established and growing commercial real estate development firm is seeking an Associate Development Manager for a full-time, on-site direct hire opportunity in Charleston, SC. This role is ideal for a commercial real estate professional who wants hands-on exposure to the full retail development lifecycle, including site selection, due diligence, entitlements, contract coordination, construction oversight, and project completion.
This opportunity offers strong long-term career potential with a clear path toward advancement into a Development Manager role based on performance. Unlike larger development environments where responsibilities may be divided across multiple departments, this position provides broad project ownership, close collaboration with experienced leadership, and the chance to build practical development expertise across multiple single-tenant retail projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple single-tenant retail development projects from site identification through construction and final project completion.
- Source and evaluate development opportunities using demographic, traffic, zoning, market, and feasibility analysis.
- Coordinate LOIs, purchase agreements, development contracts, easements, due diligence reports, entitlement documentation, and approval packages.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, consultants, municipalities, brokers, landowners, and retail clients throughout the development process.
- Monitor construction progress, budgets, schedules, timelines, project risks, and issue resolution to keep projects moving forward.
- Conduct market research to identify new commercial development opportunities across the Southeast.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $80,000 to $100,000 per year.
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Full-time, on-site position in Charleston, SC.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
