Job Summary:
The Equipment Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, or other machinery to move materials and products throughout the warehouse or distribution center. This position plays a critical role in shipping, receiving, inventory management, and maintenance operations. The Equipment Operator ensures that goods are properly transported, organized, and stored according to company procedures. This role requires both operating warehouse equipment and performing physical tasks to support overall warehouse efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Operation:
- Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, clamp trucks, and other machinery, to move, load, unload, and organize materials, products, or goods within the warehouse or yard.
- Safely handle, transport, and store materials, ensuring items are moved with care and securely placed in designated storage areas.
- Perform routine pre-shift inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure it is in safe working condition.
- Shipping and Receiving Support:
- Assist with the loading and unloading of shipments, ensuring all materials are moved to or from the appropriate location in the warehouse.
- Ensure that all products and materials are properly tagged and stored according to company standards.
- Coordinate with the shipping and receiving teams to ensure orders are processed and stored correctly.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety regulations and warehouse procedures while operating equipment.
- Follow all company policies regarding the handling, storage, and transportation of materials to ensure safety and compliance.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
- General Warehouse Assistance:
- Assist with general warehouse tasks, including loading/unloading, product inspections, and maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within the warehouse.
- Work with the team to assist in meeting daily productivity and safety goals.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, or other machinery in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, inventory management, or warehouse maintenance is preferred.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to safely operate and maneuver warehouse equipment in tight spaces.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication skills to work with warehouse team members and supervisors.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and moving materials.
- Certifications:
- Forklift or equipment operator certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Location & Travel:
- Ability to work at the assigned warehouse or distribution center location.
- Other Requirements:
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible in handling various warehouse tasks.
- Ability to work full-time, with flexibility for overtime as needed.
- Physical Demands:
- Ability to safely operate equipment for extended periods.
- Frequent lifting and moving of materials, with a maximum weight of up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to bend, kneel, and reach to move materials and perform various tasks.
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods when operating equipment or performing related tasks.

1st shift: 3:00 AM PST – 11:30 PM PST
2nd shift: 2:30 PM PST – 11:00 PM PST (+$1 shift differential)
