Medical Assistant – Patient Enrollment
Location: Fort Worth, TX and surrounding clinics (up to 30 mile radius travel required)
Pay Range: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour, based on experience

Position Summary
HBox is seeking a compassionate, patient-focused Medical Assistant to support patient enrollment and education for our Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) program. This role will primarily support Heart Center of North Texas (HCNT) clinics (Fort Worth, Weatherford, & Granbury) and may expand to additional partner clinics throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area as HBox continues to grow.
The Medical Assistant will work directly with patients, providers, and clinic staff to enroll eligible patients into RPM programs, provide device education, assist with clinical support activities, and ensure patients are comfortable using monitoring equipment. This position requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to travel to clinic locations within approximately a 30-mile radius, as business needs dictate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Patient Enrollment & Education
- Identify and engage eligible patients for enrollment into Remote Patient Monitoring programs.
- Educate patients on the benefits of remote monitoring and how participation can improve health outcomes.
- Demonstrate proper use of monitoring equipment, including blood pressure monitors, pulse oximeters, weight scales, and other approved devices.
- Ensure patients understand how and when to take and submit readings.
- Address patient questions and concerns regarding the program and equipment.
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered education that encourages program participation and compliance.
Clinical & Administrative Support
- Assist with patient intake activities, including obtaining and documenting patient information as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical record systems and RPM platforms.
- Coordinate with providers and clinic staff regarding patient enrollment status and follow-up needs.
- Support workflow processes that promote successful patient participation and compliance.
- Ensure all patient information is handled in accordance with HIPAA and company privacy standards.
- Assist with additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned within scope of training and certification.
Device & Technology Support
- Set up and distribute monitoring equipment to enrolled patients.
- Troubleshoot basic device and connectivity issues.
- Provide ongoing support and education to patients experiencing challenges with equipment usage.
- Communicate technical concerns to the appropriate support teams when escalation is needed.
- Maintain inventory and accountability of monitoring equipment and supplies.
Travel & Clinic Support
- Travel to assigned clinic locations throughout the DFW area based on operational needs.
- Support newly launched clinic locations as directed.
- Maintain flexibility to work from various clinic sites within approximately a 30-mile service radius.
- Collaborate effectively with providers, medical assistants, and clinic leadership to ensure successful program implementation.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
Licensure & Certifications
- Current Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA, or equivalent) certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Experience
- Prior Medical Assistant experience in a physician practice, outpatient clinic, or healthcare setting preferred.
- New graduates who have successfully completed an externship may be considered.
- Experience with Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM), Chronic Care Management (CCM), cardiology, or healthcare technology programs is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems required; experience with NextGen is preferred.
- Comfortable using healthcare technology platforms, mobile applications, and connected monitoring devices.
- Ability to learn and troubleshoot basic technical issues related to remote monitoring equipment.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain healthcare concepts and device usage in a clear, patient-friendly manner.
- Professional telephone etiquette and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, clinic staff, and external partners.
- Spanish language proficiency is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation: $19.00-$21.00 per hour, based on experience.
- Mileage reimbursement for approved business travel in accordance with company policy.
- Benefits: eligibility following successful completion of the 90-day introductory/probationary period.
- Employment Type: Full-Time, W-2 Employee (Hourly, Non-Exempt)
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, generally between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, approximately 40 hours per week

All newly hired employees are subject to a 90-day introductory/probationary period. During this time, performance, attendance, and overall job suitability will be evaluated.
