Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Transport Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting passengers to their destinations while providing excellent customer service. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to handle various driving situations with professionalism and care.

School Van Driver Duties
- Safely transport students to and from school, field trips, and other authorized activities.
- Follow all traffic laws and school transportation policies.
- Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Check that the van is safe and properly equipped before each trip.
- Make sure students enter and exit the van safely.
- Ensure students remain seated and properly secured while the vehicle is moving.
- Maintain order and appropriate student behavior inside the van.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules.
- Keep accurate records of mileage, trips, inspections, and incidents as required.
- Report vehicle problems, accidents, unsafe conditions, or student incidents to the appropriate school official.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
- Assist students with disabilities or special transportation needs as required.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with students, parents/guardians, school staff, and other drivers.
- Keep the van clean and orderly.
- Use safe defensive-driving practices, including continuously scanning the roadway and surroundings.
- Never drive under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that could impair driving ability.
- Follow emergency procedures and respond appropriately to accidents or other emergencies.
Experience
- 1–2 years of driving experience with a valid driver’s license.
- Clean or acceptable driving record with no serious violations.
- Experience driving passengers, children, or groups is often preferred.
- Experience working with children or teenagers can be helpful.
- Experience with defensive driving and vehicle safety procedures.
- Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Experience following assigned routes and schedules.
- Good communication and ability to handle student behavior professionally.
- Experience assisting students with special transportation needs may be preferred for some positions.
- Some employers may require a school transportation training program, background check, drug screening, or additional licensing/certification, depending on the type of van and local regulations.
Pay
- Pay will be administered by trip completion not hourly
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
