Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily kennel activities, including cleaning, feeding, and monitoring animals’ health and behavior
- Lead and train a team of kennel technicians, fostering a positive and productive work environment
- Ensure proper animal handling, restraint, and safety protocols are followed at all times
- Oversee pet grooming, pet sitting, and basic veterinary assistance tasks as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, common areas, and equipment through thorough cleaning and sanitation procedures
- Assist with heavy lifting and team lifting tasks to move animals or supplies safely
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ care and needs
Skills
- Proven kennel experience, veterinary or kennel technician background with knowledge of animal health needs
- Experience in pet bathing, pet sitting, or animal care roles demonstrating compassion and attention to detail
- Strong dog handling skills and proficiency in animal restraint techniques
- Ability to perform outdoor work comfortably in various weather conditions
- Excellent team leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide staff effectively
- Knowledge of cleaning protocols specific to animal facilities to ensure hygiene standards are met
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, outdoor work, and long periods of standing or walking
- Outstanding customer service skills to build trust with pet owners and address their concerns confidently
