Job Summary
To assist an assigned Regional Sales Manager (RSM) with all daily sales and marketing duties. The primary tasks of this position are directly related to sales activities generated by the RSM, with the goal of collectively growing sales in the RSM’s designated territory. This individual is a direct extension/partner of the RSM and should possess the ability to communicate at all levels internally and externally. This person will work with customers to build client relationships, drive revenue growth, and gain deep product expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Quotes
Proces

Obtain current material lead-time as needed.
Collaborate with the RSM regarding pricing structure.
Store all applicable information in Q: Drive for access by PCC and reference for future use.
Follow up weekly on all quotes over $1,000.00 and track follow-up activity on a spreadsheet.
Work with engineering on mold quotes, presenting and storing all applicable information required for order processing.
KPIs: Total quotes generated in territory, quote-to-order ratio, ISP vs. RSM quote ratio.
Sales Orders
Process orders.
Confirm quoted pricing is correct.
Confirm applicable drawings/revisions are correct.
Confirm all part IDs and descriptions are correct.
Participate in all facets of
new injection tool sales, from mold kick-off meeting through first article approval and production run scheduling.
KPIs: ISP vs. RSM order ratio, increased sales in territory.
Telemarketing
Contact new prospects acquired by the RSM via phone.
Track telemarketing activity in a database.
Communicate telemarketing information obtained to the RSM for future follow-up and sales trip planning.
Collaborate with the RSM and Marketing Manager regarding sustainable and creative ways to market to new and existing customers.
KPIs: New contacts entered into mass email system, new prospect accounts added to M1, active customers established in M1, restored dormant accounts.
Other
Travel as needed to assist the RSM (e.g. trade shows, national sales meetings, etc.).
Host virtual meetings/tours on behalf of the RSM as needed.
Host customers on site on behalf of the RSM as needed.
Participate in off-site activities with the RSM and customers hosted by DPI (e.g. dinners, fishing, etc.).
Become a technical asset to best support the territory.
Essential Skills and Experience

Ability to estimate time and materials required for manufacture of product.
Working knowledge of mechanical function, with emphasis on power transmission.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
Work is completed in an office setting. Employees are required to occasionally stand, sit, walk, and use hands for typing, writing, and handling papers and office equipment. Must be able to see at close distance, talk, and hear.

Qualifications & Skills
Experience
1–3 years of sales in manufacturing or a related field. Plastics manufacturing experience a plus.
Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software and processes quickly.
Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Effective problem-solving, analytical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly to changing production demands.
Service-oriented mindset with strong business acumen and a positive, “can-do” attitude.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Education
High School Diploma or GED required.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field a plus.
Experience: 1–3 years of proven success in a technical sales, business development, or engineering support role.
Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving, and proficiency with ERP software.
Compensation
Pay Range: $30.00 – $36.00 per hour or higher depending on qualifications and experience (DOE).
