Duties
- Teach nail technology theory and hands-on practical skills in accordance with the school’s curriculum.
- Demonstrate proper nail care techniques, including manicures, pedicures, acrylics, gels, nail art, and sanitation procedures.
- Supervise students during classroom and clinic activities to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
- Evaluate student performance through practical demonstrations, written assignments, and skills assessments.
- Provide constructive feedback, coaching, and mentorship to help students succeed.
- Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student progress records.
- Ensure compliance with state board regulations, school policies, and industry standards.
- Promote proper infection control, sanitation, and workplace safety practices.
- Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and classroom demonstrations.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and fully stocked classroom and clinic area.
- Assist students in preparing for state licensing examinations.
- Foster a positive, professional, and inclusive learning environment.
- Stay current on industry trends, techniques, products, and state regulations.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as required.
- Perform other instructional and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current Tennessee Manicurist (or Cosmetology) License required.
- Current Tennessee Nail Instructor License (or Cosmetology Instructor License with authorization to teach manicuring) required.
- Completion of a Tennessee Board-approved instructor training program (300 hours) or other qualifications recognized by the Tennessee Board of Cosmetology.
- Strong knowledge of Tennessee State Board laws, rules, sanitation, and infection control standards.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for teaching, mentoring, and helping students succeed.
- Ability to maintain accurate student records and meet state compliance requirements.
- Basic computer skills for attendance, grading, and electronic recordkeeping.
- Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required.
- Professional appearance, reliability, and a positive attitude.
Compensation:
- $15–$18 per hour, based on experience.
- $100 bonus for every student who enrolls.
