Hinderer Motor Company is seeking a Senior Accountant who plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of our financial operations.
This is not a back-office role. This position sits at the center of dealership operations—working across departments, supporting daily activity, and ensuring that financial processes are executed correctly every time.
This role does not directly manage people but is a key driver of accountability, accuracy, and operational discipline across the accounting function.

What You’ll OwnFinancial Reporting & Accuracy
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements in accordance with dealership and manufacturer requirements
- Ensure accuracy across schedules, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Support daily operating controls (DOC) and provide visibility into key financial trends
- Assist with forecasting and financial planning activities
Accounting Operations & Controls
- Ensure all financial transactions—including deals, commissions, inventory, and receivables—are processed accurately
- Review work, identify discrepancies, and take action to correct issues
- Maintain clean, accurate schedules and ensure timely month-end close processes
- Support payroll processing and ensure accuracy in payroll records
Cash Flow & Financial Oversight
- Monitor daily cash activity, bank deposits, and cash flow needs
- Support floor plan reporting and vehicle payoffs
- Assist in managing receivables, approvals, and account activity
Accountability & Process Oversight
- Partner with accounting and administrative team members to ensure work is completed accurately and on time
- Provide guidance and support to maintain consistency with company policies and procedures
- Identify inefficiencies or breakdowns in process and drive improvements
- Support cross-training efforts to ensure continuity across key functions
Compliance & Operational Support
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and manufacturer financial requirements
- Maintain accuracy of tax reporting, payroll-related filings, and financial documentation
- Oversee manufacturer accounts (warranty, rebates, co-op, etc.) for accuracy and timeliness
- Serve as a resource for payroll, commissions, and accounting-related questions across the dealership
What You Bring
- Accounting experience, preferably within a dealership environment
- Strong understanding of financial statements and month-end close processes
- High attention to detail and strong sense of ownership
- Ability to identify issues, solve problems, and follow through
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to influence and drive accountability without direct authority
- Experience with dealership systems (Dealertrack or similar) is a plus

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
