Focusing on maintaining quality and craftsmanship in the products they fabricate, Fabricators typically do the following:
- Read detailed schematics for complex machines
- Use hand tools and power tools to trim, cut, and fit components into the final product.
- Weld and solder pieces together
- Align components and connect them with bolts and screws
- Find faulty components in defective products to fix them
- Technical skills, the diagrams, and technical manuals
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasks, such as climbing ladders and bending often
- Mechanical skills and knowledge of basic machinery, including computers, tools, collaborative robots, and other devices
- The ability to see colors, since wires are often color coded
- Physical strength to lift heavy machinery, tools, and components
- Dexterity and good hand-eye coordination, with the ability to manipulate and assemble very large and extremely small components
This job is more than just welding and fabrication; within our company other jobs will be completed that require work outside of welding and/or fabrication.
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
