Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Physician - Boca Raton, FL.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Clinical:
Provides high quality medical care to patients, including taking an appropriate medical history and performing an accurate physical examination.
Orders and correctly interprets appropriate diagnostic studies to assist in diagnosis.
Uses evidence-based strategies to guide diagnosis and treatment plan. Provides education and information to the patient.
Refers for additional consultation, evaluation, or care when medically indicated. Records findings in a systematic, comprehensive, and clearly stated form.
Perform primary care procedures, including laceration repair, incision and drainage, pap smear, and Dermabond.
Practices within the scope of approved privileges.
Follows FAU and FAU SHS guidelines, policies, and protocols.
Institutes emergency procedures that might be required in life-threatening situations to stabilize a patient's condition or prevent further trauma until emergency medical transport arrives.
Consults with other members of the medical staff about patients with special medical problems in accordance with established guidelines.
Participates in peer review and quality improvement activities.
Maintains current and appropriate medical credentials.
Able to go to partner campuses as needed: Jupiter.
Assist in providing basic first aid and initial triage services during emergency situations, including on-campus mass-casualty incidents, as needed.
Reports to the Medical Director.
Administrative Duties pertaining to the Clinic:
Provides direct clinical supervision, mentorship, and performance oversight for assigned clinical staff.
Provides supervisory coverage and assumes delegated supervisory responsibilities during the absence of designated supervising physicians to ensure continuity of clinical operations, patient care, and clinical decision-making.
Provides medical advice and guidance for clinical staff seeking consultation on challenging cases.
Assists with clinical scheduling to ensure adequate coverage.
Assists the Medical Director with ongoing educational programs and furthering the delivery of clinical excellence.
Assists with recruiting, onboarding, and training of new medical providers.
Assists with ensuring clinical staff are compliant with established workflows and adherence to policies.
Inform Medical Director of any workplace or workflow issues.
Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with community and university partners, including subspecialists.
Serves as the primary clinical contact during the Medical Director's absence when assigned or when the designated covering physician is unavailable.
Emergency Support Function Response: Clinical, Boca Raton Clinic.
Actively participates in the three-year AAAHC re-accreditation review with support from the appropriate committee members.
Assists the Medical Director with the peer review process, quality improvement projects, other meetings, and projects as assigned. Serves as backup for the medical director and the nursing supervisor in clinical operations.
Assists the medical director with other administrative tasks and job-related duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
A Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution with four years of appropriate experience required.
Licensed or license eligible in field of study by the State of Florida in accordance with Chapter 490 or 491, FS
Must be familiar with HIPAA confidentiality regulations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must comply with a federal, state, and university regulations and statutes, as well as internal policies and procedures.
Salary:
$175,000 annually.
