Overview
We are seeking an Assistant/Grader to support our Instructor and students. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about education and eager to gain valuable experience in an academic setting. You will work closely with the instructor/lead assistant by assisting with facilitating classroom activities, providing support during class sessions, and ensure a positive learning experience for all participants. Prior Kumon experience is preferred, but not required. Strong academic skills in Math and Reading is required.
Duties
- Assist instructor in preparing classroom materials and setting up learning activities
- Support students during lessons by answering questions and providing additional guidance as needed
- Help manage classroom behavior to maintain a respectful and productive environment
- Organize and distribute educational resources and supplies
- Monitor student progress and report observations to the instructor
- Support administrative tasks such as progress tracking and grading assistance
- Foster an inclusive, encouraging atmosphere that promotes student engagement and participation
Experience
- Prior Kumon experience is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with Kumon Method and student expectations
- Previous experience working with children or in educational settings is a plus but not required
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other assistants and students
- Organized, responsible, and proactive approach to supporting classroom activities
- Enthusiasm for learning and a genuine interest in helping students succeed
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.90 - $18.00 per hour
