Position Overview
The Programs Director leads the Parents for Peace Programs Department, providing strategic and operational oversight to ensure intervention services are delivered safely, effectively, and in alignment with the organization’s mission. This role is accountable for departmental leadership, program quality, staff performance, case governance, grant compliance, and strategic partnerships, while driving continuous improvement and supporting organizational growth.
Program Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the Programs Department and keep program goals aligned with Parents for Peace's mission and broader organizational objectives
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs that strengthen service delivery and program integrity, working with legal counsel as needed
- Own the Programs Department Handbook and Programs Department Process Memo, keeping guidelines current as protocols evolve
- Oversee and standardize the volunteer and internship programs for consistency and mission alignment
- Support grant development and income-generating opportunities alongside organizational leadership
Case Oversight & Risk Management
- Approve off-ramping classifications and review exit interview data quarterly across cases
- Hold supervision and case consultation jointly with the Director of Intervention Services
- Participate in the sign-off chain for High, Moderate, and Low Confidence off-ramping decisions, alongside the case lead, second interventionist, and Director of Intervention Services
- Review case progress tracking outputs monthly and manage quarterly board and grant reporting using Case Tracker dashboard outputs
Staff Supervision & Accountability
- Provide overall leadership and accountability for program governance, staffing, compliance, reporting, and department performance
- Work with the Director of Intervention Services on staff supervision, consultation meeting coordination, and capacity monitoring
- Foster a high-performing, collaborative, and accountable team culture
- Lead workforce planning, interviewing, and onboarding for the Programs Department
- Identify succession planning and professional development opportunities
Training & Development
- Coordinate internal and external training initiatives, including onboarding pathways for helpline roles
- Oversee the annual professional development calendar and ensure training requirements per role stay current and transparent
Communications & Outreach
- Build a clear channel between the Communications Department and the Programs Department for the output of content and prevention information
- Review, edit, and approve departmental blog posts to ensure alignment with Parents for Peace culture and programmatic approach
Grant Compliance & Reporting
- Serve as a named role on program-related grant-funded projects, overseeing and supervising intervention teams and providing associated administrative support
- Manage quarterly reporting on Programs Department impact and identified grant deliverables
- Represent and advocate for Parents for Peace at meetings, conferences, and other relevant convenings
Partnerships
- Build and lead outreach initiatives with strategic partners and stakeholders, including national facilitated presentations
- Foster relationships with peer organizations and public institutions to support program outcomes
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s or higher degree in relevant fields (master's degree preferred)
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in violence prevention, targeted violence prevention, hate-fueled violence interventions, or other related fields
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in direct supervision and team management
- Strong project management and implementation skills
- Experience in program development and team leadership
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, case management systems, and digital collaboration platforms
- Work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
- Strong qualities of integrity, transparency, and empathy
Suggested Qualifications
- Experience supervising clinical or intervention staff, ideally within a mental health, social work, or violence prevention setting
- Familiarity with case management systems and outcome tracking, or ability to learn Parents for Peace’s Case Tracker quickly
- Comfort holding staff accountable to protocol while maintaining a supportive, non-punitive supervisory style
- Grant reporting experience a strong plus
- Background in CVE, extremism, radicalization, or related trauma-informed intervention work preferred
Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.
Remote Work and Travel
This position is fully remote, with occasional travel as needed for meetings, conferences, and partnership development.
Weekly Commitment
This position is expected to commit a minimum of 30 hours per week
